From May 12th to 14th 2022 the hybrid conference „Exhaust(ed) Entanglements“ took place, organized by project B05.

On February 25 and 26, 2022, the hybrid conference "Undoing Mastery" took place, organized by project B05.

On May 28 and 29, 2021, the online annual conference "Diversity Affects - Troubling Institutions" of the SFB took place in cooperation with the House of World Cultures and the Schwules Museum Berlin.

From the 27th up to the 28th of September 2018 the international conference "Sentiments of Justice in Africa: Sensing the Normative at Shifting Scales" took place at FU Berlin, organized by project B04.

From the 24th until lthe 26th of September 2018, the international conference "Affective Arrangements in Mental Health Care Settings" took place at FU Berlin, organized by project A02.

May 24-26, 2018, the international conference "Hass/Literatur" (Hate/Literature) took place at FU Berlin. Invited by Jürgen Brokoff, head of project at C04, and Robert Walter-Jochum, literary scholars, sociologists, philosphers and anthopologists came together to dispurte the relation between hate and (literary) texts.

The 3rd annual conference of the CRC "Affective Societies" discusses contemporary forms and activities of audiences and explores their changing roles in today’s mobile, mediatized and networked societies.

November 2-4, 2017, the conference "Geteilte Gefühle. Entwürfe von Zugehörigkeit in der transkulturellen deutschsprachigen Gegenwartsliteratur" (Shared Feelings. Concepts of Belonging in the transcultural German-speaking contemporary literature) took place at FU Berlin, organized by project A03.

On the 27th and 28th of October 2017 the international conference "P/RE/ENACT! ZwischenZeitenPerformen" (performing between times) was held by the the theme group (P)Reenactment at the FU Berlin.

International Symposium hosted by the Collaborative Research Center “Affective Societies”, Project B01 “Affective Dynamics of Images in the Era of Social Media”, Freie Universität Berlin.

The conference "Affekte - Medien - Macht" (affects - media - power) was organized by the research project B02 "transcultural emotional repertoires in and by Reality TV" in cooperation with the DGPuK panel "Sociology of media communications" and took place form 29th of June up to the 1st of July 2017.

The 2nd International Conference of the CRC 1171 "Affective Societies" questions normative conceptions of contemporary public spheres and proposes to conceive of them as often fragmented spaces of affective resonance that emerge from the power of language to affect and to ascribe and instill collective emotion.
