Emotion Repertoires

The working group discussed the operationalization and sharpening of the content of the concept of emotion repertoire, which has already been tried in different contexts, but seems to be insufficiently defined so far. The initial questions of this working group concerned the stability and changeability of emotion repertoires, their location (e.g. in spaces, collectives or actors), their intra- and interpersonal implications, the interrelationships between diverging repertoires, their creation and transformation conditions as well as their observability and description. Emotion repertoire is understood as a transdisciplinary relevant term that allows a bridge to be built between humanities, cultural and social sciences and opens up fruitful approaches to questions of affectivity in a field of tension between materiality and performance, individual practice and discourse, convention and situativity, as well as embodiment and cognition.
