Edda Heyken participated in the workshop "Social Anthropology of 'Well-Being' - Prekäres Leben: Krieg, Flucht und Migration" of the project group Medical Anthropology (DGSKA) which took place May 5th and 6th 2017 at the University of Münster. She also gave a talk with the title „Affektive Anstrengungen der Migration. Vietnamesische Boatpeople in Berlin und Bewältigungsstrategien im Spannungsfeld zwischen vergangenen und gegenwärtigen Belastungssituationen“ which focused on the interdependence of structural and emotional-affective burdens as well as temporal and spacial dimensions.
