During the winter semester 19/20, and inserted in the Master's program of Social and Cultural Anthropology of the Freie Universität Berlin, Paola Ivanov and Jonas Bens conducted a seminar titled "Soziale Beziehungen und Ökonomie" (Social Relations and Economy).

In the seminar, the often strict boundaries between social relations and economics are defied through an anthropological perspective, which takes these two notions as inherently intertwining. To achieve this, the seminar dealt with basic concepts such as exchange, gift, commodity, value, property and moral economy, discussing additionally different directions of anthropological theory on the relationship between economy and society.
