On the 15th of February 2018 Jonas Bens presented a paper at the international conference "Punishment: Negotiating Society" at the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology in Halle/Saale. The conference took place from 14.-16. February and was organized by the International Max Planck Reserach School on Retaliation, Mediation, and Punishment (REMEP).

Jonas Bens' paper was entitled "Punishment and Transitional Justice in Normative Pluralism: Assessing the Legitimacy of Punishment with Affect and Emotion" and was concerend with perceptions of the legitimacy of punishment in the context of proceedings of the International Criminal Court.
