Emotion and Relationality in Forms of (Post-)Migrant Theater
Comparing (post-)migrant theaters in Berlin and London, this project investigates how contemporary theatre performances contribute to the affective shape of migration experiences as they are negotiated in the public sphere. When theatre productions deal with questions of cultural diversity, the audience members may bring in different experiences of and attitudes towards migration, mobility, identity politics and discrimination. The resulting complex affective relations of belonging and distance are to be described and analyzed carefully.
