The subproject D03 (formerly A02) examines, the mobilization and differentiation of the Berlin network "Mental Health of Vietnamese Migrants" with an interdisciplinary composition consisting of anthropologists, psychiatrists, and psychologists.  During various crises in recent years (COVID-19 pandemic, Russia-Ukraine war), challenges (mental burdens) and innovations (increased digitalization) have emerged within the network, which are now being investigated for their affective and community-building potential. By continuing the long-term research, a wide range of established contacts with care actors from the Vietnamese community in Berlin, as well as increasingly from various care sectors in Vietnam, can be drawn upon. The project focuses on the mutual influence of these two transnationally linked spheres.

In the context of implementing new Global Mental Health (GMH) projects, particular emphasis is placed on self-reflective methods and decolonial efforts in psychosocial healthcare between Berlin and Vietnam. The goal is to establish a partnership on an equal footing and to critically accompany this implementation process through research.
