Project Description:

Elisabeth Huber is an associate of the research data center Qualiservice directed by Prof. Betina Hollstein. Funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the project on ethnographic research data is implemented together with the Specialised Information Service Social and Cultural Anthropology, located at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Aiming at developing suitable solutions for preserving and providing ethnographic materials to researchers, the project tasks encompass data management and data archiving. In cooperating with use studies hitherto existing proceedings for documenting and contextualizing research data are readjusted. New solutions pertain particularly to text-based materials like observation protocols and fieldnotes as well as (audio)visual materials. Together with the State and University Library Bremen we also work on the adaptation of the current metadata schema.

Before becoming an associate of the research data center Qualiservice Elisabeth Huber had been preparing a data management concept for the second term of the CRC 1171 from April 2018 to February 2019. Lessons learnt in regard to methodological and ethical issues in a multidisciplinary collaborative research center still contribute to consulting research projects with their data management planning.
