LGBT, refugee policy, climate protection - some topics cause a lot of clashes in debates. For their new book "Trigger Points," a team of Berlin sociologists has traced why emotions boil up so quickly when certain buzzwords are mentioned. Gender stars, cargo bikes, upper limits: they are by no means marginal topics, but stand for sensitive points in the political debate, where ultimately deeply rooted basic moral expectations are violated. What exactly distinguishes these points? And what can be learned from them?
