Visiting scholar 2026

Eleonora Bordogni's previous studies and work experiences in tourism management and photojournalism led her to study socio-cultural anthropology (UNED, 2017–2021; UAM, 2022). She conducted fieldwork in Nepal and Spain, respectively studying the practice of Chhaupadi and its alteration driven by NGOs, and the Nepali migration to Spain. Currently she is doing a PhD research on the contemporary Spanish migration in Europe focusing on the affective and embodied perspective, analyzing how processes of belonging are forged and transformed throughout the entire migratory process, including the return. She promotes the use of photography as a method in her research, both as a complement to verbal communication and as a great tool to explore the ineffable aspects of the experience.
