Bringing together the “linked lives” approach as established within transdisciplinary aging re-search with current psychological anthropological research on affects and emotions, this article proposes the concept of “affective lives” in order to analyze the links between emotional belonging, age(ing), migration and temporality. In focusing, in particular, on the heterogeneous life trajectories of three Vietnamese women in Berlin as well as on the ways in which they felt enabled or not to engage in new and multiple forms of belonging, the article tackles the complexities of, and the links between mobility and immobility.
