What role do affect and emotions play in the political? This question is the starting point of a working group of the Collaborative Research Center Affective Societies. Scholars from various humanities and social sciences - from social and cultural anthropology, film studies, literary studies, philosophy, political science, sociology, and theater studies - work together in this group. In this interdisciplinary group, we compare our research experiences and ask where the political occurs in affective societies, how it can be thought, and to what extent societies understood in affective terms are political.
