On thursday, 28th of November, Steven Vertovec who is a researcher at Max-Planck-Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity isinvited by CRC Affective Societies to talk about "Searching the Languag: Diversity and Complexity".

Prof. Dr. Steven Vertovec, Max-Planck-Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity describes his lecture:

"In this talk, I will explore and critique a variety of concepts and approaches that have been taken in recent years to describe an increasing diversification and complexification of urban societies. It is clear that scholars from across the social sciences are searching for new language to describe and theorize seemingly new developments. With reference to the SFB Affective Societies, I will subsequently ask: how can we think about urban/societal complexification and its effects on multiple affects, and conversely, about multiplying affects giving rise to modes of complexification?"

The lecture will be public and entrance is for free!
