Slamming Affective Societies – The opening event of the CRC1171 Affective Societies’ second research phase.
At the start of the second funding period, the Collaborative Research Center Affective Societies invited to a Science Slam in the foyer of the Museen Dahlem.
On the occasion of the beginning of its second four-year funding period, the research network, headed by the anthropologist Birgitt Röttger-Rössler, invited to a public kick-off event in the foyer of the Museen Dahlem.
On this evening, a total of 15 research projects of the CRC presented themselves in a Science Slam format. No presentation lasted longer than 3 minutes - variety and vividness were guaranteed. Researchers from the fields of social and cultural anthropology, sociology, literature, philosophy, political science as well as theatre, film and communication studies gave a glimpse of the variety of socially significant affective processes and provided insights into methods of affect and emotion research.
The scientific presentations were musically framed by the Berlin Smoke & Soul band.
