A cooperation between B01 and the research group „Transformations of Life“ at a.r.t.e.s. Research Lab, University of Cologne.

Dr. Martin Zillinger is an Assistant Professor at University of Cologne where he researches on migration and movements for religious renewal around the Mediterranean, as well as on media networks and socio-technical systems and transformational processes in North- and West Africa. Apart from that he is the project director of the subproject "B04: Digitale Öffentlichkeiten und gesellschaftliche Transformation im Maghreb" as part of the SFB 1187 "Medien der Kooperation" at University of Siegen. He is also part of the Global South Studies Center Cologne (GSSC).

Amin Azimi is an Islamic scholar.

Dr. Christoph Günther is a scientific assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Ethnologic Research in Halle/Saale, section "Integration and Conflict". He is teaching at the universities of Marburg and Leipzig. He received a PhD from University of Leipzig in 2013 for his dissertation on "Ein zweiter Staat im Zweistromland? Genese und Ideologie des "Islamischen Staates Irak"".
