Lecture: "Worshipping Ancestors: 'Economies of Affect' in Socialist Vietnam" by Dr. Gertrud Hüwelmeier, HU Berlin
Dr. Gertrud Hüwelmeier is an anthropologist and Senior Research Fellow at the Humboldt-University Berlin and Senior Research Partner at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity, department of socio-cultural diversity. She published widely about religion, gender and transnationalism. Her research project on “The Global Bazaar” (2011-2015) focused on social, religious and economic ties among Vietnamese in post-socialist countries in Europe and in Vietnam. Currently, she is working on a new project “Religion, Media, and Materiality. Spiritual Economies in Southeast Asia."
