Hartmut Rosa is a professor of sociology at the Friedrich-Schiller-University of Jena and director of the Max Weber Kolleg in Erfurt, speaker of The Research Group on Post-Growth Societies, publisher of Time & Society, author of the books ‚Beschleunigung. Die Veränderung der Zeitstrukturen in der Moderne‘ and ‚Resonanz. Eine Soziologie der Weltbeziehungen‘. He earned his Ph.D. in 1997 at the Humboldt University of Berlin with a dissertation on Charles Taylor and qualified as a professor in 2004 in Jena. He has also been teaching in New York, Paris, Essen and Augsburg.
