Matthias Warstat is Professor of Theatre Studies at Freie Universität Berlin and Co-Director of the International Research Center “Interweaving Performance Cultures”. Within the CRC 1171 “Affective Societies”, he is head of the sub-project “theatre as an affecting and affected institution”. Main research areas: modern European theatre history, theatricality of society and of politics, aesthetics of contemporary theatre. Publications (i.a.): Soziale Theatralität.
