Theatre as an Affecting and Affected Institution
The project C05 analyzes the affective dynamics of debates and processes of institutionalization within German theatre. A focus lies on the Berlin theatre landscape and its transformations, reaching from the city’s division and reunification to contemporary forms of postmigrant theatre, which were investigated in the first funding phase. The project is structured into three research areas, defined by the concepts of ensemble, canon and house, which examine the different material, performative and collective dimensions of theatrical institutions.
