Im Format von zweiwöchentlichen Lesesitzungen untersucht die Themengruppe Begriffe von Affekt im Kontext der Black Studies. Wir beschäftigen uns nicht nur mit inhaltlichen Positionen zu Affekt und Blackness, sondern machen auch die Form von Texten und die Praxis des Lesens zum Gegenstand unserer Gespräche. Denker:innen wie Fred Moten, Hortense Spillers, Sylvia Wynter oder Frank Wilderson III und ihre jüngeren Kommentator:innen gehören zum Lektüreprogramm der Gruppe. Mit interdisziplinären Hintergründen diskutieren wir, wie Vorstellungen von An- und Enteignung, Affekt(fähigkeit), Sexualität, Handlungsfähigkeit und Menschlichkeit unter den Bedingungen rassistischer Unterwerfung und weißer Vorherrschaft zu verstehen sind.
