In a Keynote co-sponsored by the CRC Affective Societies and the Berlin Graduate School Muslim Cultures and Societies, Ann Stoler will consider the concept of ‘interior frontiers’ as it pertains to the sensibilities and affects that harden distinctions between who is ‘us’ and who is construed as ‘them,’ as a diagnostic of where and how sites of anxious over-identification emerge, and as a dispositif central to the discriminations and visceral exclusions on which racialized governance in its colonial and contemporary conditions depends.

This Keynote is part of the 10 year anniversary celebration of the Berlin Graduate School Muslim Cultures and Societies. Please find the programme in the download area below.

You are kindly requested to register by 31 May via Email with office@bgsmcs.fu-berlin.de
